Latah County Recent Arrest Routes
Latah County arrest routes changed in 2025. The jail in Moscow no longer holds local inmates overnight. It now handles daytime bookings and court holding. Someone arrested during operating hours gets processed in Moscow first. If custody continues, transport follows to the Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center in Lewiston. After-hours arrests can go straight to a receiving facility. Contracts even mention a contingency involving Whitman County. Confirm the location for the individual every time.
That structure splits four events people often blur together: the arrest itself, booking in Moscow, transport, and appearance on the receiving jail's daily report. It also explains why an old roster result can clash with today's route. The official Latah County Sheriff page points its Jail Roster link to Nez Perce County now. Let that current link lead every search. The legacy Latah roster still sits in search indexes, but the page returns a server error and cannot prove present custody.
Booking details can shift after entry. Confirm current custody directly with the facility holding the person.
Search the Latah Arrest Roster
The live public route is the Nez Perce County In-Custody page. The Latah Sheriff links to it directly. It covers people arrested and booked each day. The database refreshes every 24 hours. Updates run Monday through Thursday, with weekend and holiday activity folded into Monday's report. Status changes may lag, so confirm custody by phone or in person.
| Roster field or clue | What it can establish |
|---|---|
| Name and ID | An entry in the receiving facility’s current report, subject to spelling and identity checks. |
| Report timestamp | When the public custody snapshot was produced, not necessarily the arrest time. |
| Current housing | Presence at Nez Perce when the report was prepared. |
| Charge or court detail | Not confirmed as a full public field set in the reviewed current PDF; use the booking record and court. |
| Booking photograph | No current public photo field was confirmed in the reviewed report. |
Good searching takes a few deliberate steps. Open the Sheriff route and note the time. Follow the current roster link. Compare the report timestamp with the arrest time, and try the agency's exact spelling of the name. No result? Call the receiving facility at 208-799-3132 or the Latah Sheriff at 208-882-2216. Gaps have many causes: processing in Moscow, release before a refresh, transfer, juvenile status, or another disclosure rule. The official receiving-county page shows the schedule and warning together.

This capture documents the current public route without reproducing names or booking photographs.
Latah Roster Source Mismatch
Today's Sheriff page and old search results pull in opposite directions. The Sheriff links to Nez Perce County's daily report. The legacy Latah roster still appears in search indexes. Its cached pages show booking dates, numbers, charges, bonds, court cases, and a photo field. That legacy page returns a server error. It can explain an old record but not current custody.
The Nez Perce report says nothing about how long entries stay visible after release. It also warns that status changes may lag. Save the report date. Separate current custody from past booking. When the two sources conflict, let a direct call to the facility settle it.
Latah Recent Arrest Feed Windows
Latah County runs one current daily custody source. There is no countywide 72-hour or weekly booking archive. Those are different questions. The same-day route tells you who appears in the receiving jail's current report. A wider sweep needs more tools. Combine the Moscow Police Daily Activity Log, Sheriff announcements, iCourt, and a written records request. The Moscow log shows incident time, location, case number, action, and a short narrative, but it is not a full county jail feed.
| Window | Best current route | Main limit |
|---|---|---|
| Arrests Last 24 Hours | Nez Perce daily in-custody report linked by Latah Sheriff | Daily lag, weekend batching, and no confirmed photo field |
| Police Blotter | Moscow activity log, Sheriff notices, court filings, and requests | No official countywide multi-day jail archive was located |
| VINELink Custody Check | One-person custody and notification search | Not a photo gallery and may lag fresh intake |
The Sheriff sends press-release notifications. These may carry public-safety items or weekly hot-sheet entries. There is no searchable hot-sheet archive and no set posting time. Genasys emergency alerts cover urgent community events, not booking updates. The sheriff's office lists no booking app.
When Latah Arrests Appear
A normal-hours arrest gets processed at the Moscow booking point, then driven to Lewiston. The 2025 agreement sets normal hours at 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Special University of Idaho event hours also apply. After-hours arrests generally go straight to the receiving facility. Each step stamps its own time: arrest, booking, transport, and the next public report.
Old Latah bond guidance estimated 30 to 60 minutes for booking. Bond paperwork or release could take another 30 to 60. Those numbers predate the transition. Treat them as no promise. They only prove intake and release have never been instant. Today's system adds travel and a daily refresh. A same-day no-result calls for a phone call, not a conclusion that no arrest happened.
Why Latah Jail Housing Changed
Latah County's jail dates to 1972. For decades it was described as a 38-person facility. Certification troubles piled up: fire suppression, plumbing, electrical work, and camera systems all needed attention. County officials put the repair bill near $13 million, and that fix would buy only five to ten more years of use. In October 2025 the building shifted toward daytime booking and court holding.
That history shapes every lookup. A Latah County recent arrest may surface through old roster pages that still rank in search engines. Treat those as legacy material. They describe round-the-clock booking that no longer exists. Today's answer comes from the current Sheriff navigation and the receiving county's report, while the originating agency keeps its own booking or incident record.
Latah Booking Record Fields
A booking record documents the intake transaction. It reaches beyond the public custody PDF. It is not the criminal case itself. The arresting agency keeps the incident report, Latah holds daytime intake material, Nez Perce holds the receiving-custody record, and the court holds filings and outcome, so ask for the exact piece you need.
| Field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Full name | Agency spelling; match with another identifier before drawing conclusions. |
| Booking number | Identifies an intake event, not a conviction or court case. |
| Booking date and time | May differ from arrest, transport, and publication times. |
| Originating agency | Could be Latah Sheriff, Moscow Police, Idaho State Police, or another agency. |
| Listed charge and code | The charge recorded at booking; abbreviations can be incomplete or stale. |
| Court case number | Connects the booking to the judicial file when one has been assigned. |
| Bond | An amount or condition that a judge may later change. |
| Custody or release status | A time-sensitive location or status that requires direct confirmation. |
| Booking photo | An intake image that may exist even when no image is shown online. |
| Disposition | The court’s later outcome, which does not come from the booking entry. |
- Booking
- Administrative intake after an arrest, including identity checks, fingerprints, and usually a photograph.
- Bond
- Money or conditions tied to release while a case is pending.
- Arraignment
- A court appearance at which charges are presented and a plea may be entered.
- Disposition
- The recorded court outcome, such as dismissal, acquittal, plea, or conviction.
- Expungement
- A legal process that may remove or restrict an eligible record under specific law.
Request Latah Booking Records
Written requests go to the Latah County Sheriff Records Office at 522 S. Adams Street, Moscow, Idaho 83843. The records line is 208-883-2266. Hours run 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, holidays excluded. The office publishes no booking-photo-specific form. Nor does it promise that every image gets released.
- Identify the person, approximate arrest and booking date, city, and originating agency. Add a booking or case number if known.
- Ask for the public portions of the booking or intake record and the booking photograph. Request an electronic copy when suitable.
- Ask the office to search both Latah processing records and related post-transition transfer material, while recognizing that Nez Perce may hold a separate custody record.
- Request an itemized fee estimate before work begins and ask for the statutory reason for any redaction or withheld item.
- If another agency owns the case, send the request to that agency. Moscow Police uses its public-records page and NextRequest portal.
Timing varies. An open investigation may stay unavailable until closure, the Sheriff cautions, and a case sent to the prosecutor may follow discovery or completion timing instead. Complex or incomplete requests can stretch to ten working days. The official records page shows the local path.

Use this office when the roster comes up short.
Latah Arrest Record Fees
Latah County lists Records Office hours and contacts but no fixed booking-photo price. Idaho Code §74-102 allows charges for copying, retrieval, review, and redaction. Those circumstances are set by law. So ask first. Request an itemized estimate before chargeable work begins. Never assume an electronic image or booking record is free. Moscow Police offers a useful comparison. Its request page warns that retrieval, review, and redaction costs can apply. An estimate goes out before processing. City procedures don't set the Sheriff's fee, though; each custodian quotes its own cost and explains anything withheld.
Latah Mugshots and Booking Photos
A mugshot is simply the photograph taken at booking. Idaho law requires photographing and fingerprinting during county intake. That guarantee stops at the jail door. Nothing requires a public image on a website. The Nez Perce daily report shows no photos. The old Latah roster did include an indexed Photo field, and historical third-party pages still preserve images from that earlier system. The change reflects a publication and technology transition, nothing more.
| Source | Photo status | Authority and use |
|---|---|---|
| Latah Sheriff and records request | Ask for the public booking photograph | Official originating or processing record, subject to Idaho exemptions |
| Nez Perce In-Custody report | No photo field confirmed | Official current receiving-jail custody snapshot |
| Moscow Police request | Form permits requests for attached photographs | Official route for MPD-held material |
| IDOC Resident/Client Search | No dependable Latah booking-photo field confirmed | Official state custody or supervision search after sentencing |
| RecentlyBooked, Mugshots.com, Arrests.org | Historical photos may appear | Unofficial republication; verify every detail with agency and court |
| Local news | Some individual stories use supplied images | Episodic reporting, not a current countywide gallery |
Start with official sources. The unofficial RecentlyBooked Latah page is real but often lists no recent results. Mugshots.com holds a large historical Latah collection. It is an archive, not a live roster. Arrests.org runs a real county landing page that tends to show no fresh entries. None of them can confirm current custody. Busted Newspaper and Mugshots.zone carry no Latah section at all. An out-of-state page should never pose as local arrest coverage.

The capture is included as source-landscape evidence, not as a gallery or authoritative roster.
Idaho Mugshot Public Records Law
Idaho's Public Records Act sits in Title 74, Chapter 1. Section 74-102 covers access, written requests, agency response, and fees. Section 74-105 shields certain categories. Juvenile records and some law-enforcement records fall there. Section 74-124 handles investigatory records and public arrest information. It also permits withholding where release could harm enforcement, privacy, fair-trial rights, confidential sources, methods, or safety.
Ask for the public portion of the record. A booking image may be released, redacted, or withheld depending on the record, its custodian, and the applicable exemption.
Idaho has no current law broadly banning private publication of adult booking photographs. Nor must a site remove an accurate record for free. A 2022 proposal touched a limited mental-health situation. It never became a broad mugshot law. Idaho Code §18-4809 targets coercive threats or offers involving publication for money. That statute is no blanket removal tool.
Fix errors at the source. A wrong name, date, charge, or identity match belongs first with the originating office. That means the Sheriff, police, receiving jail, or court. A stale search snippet can then go through Google's outdated-content tool. But refreshing a result never deletes the government record or every copy.
Correcting Latah Arrest Copies
A dismissed case does not wipe itself clean in Idaho. The State Police BCI says so plainly. Expungement is possible in certain circumstances. Under Idaho Code §67-3004(10), those include no indictment or information within one year. They also include acquittal on every charge, or dismissal of all charges. The request must be written and paired with supporting records. Idaho's Clean Slate process is separate. It carries eligibility rules and a waiting period that covers completion of the sentence and related duties. Shielding a record from public view does not always destroy it.
After the official record is fixed, a republisher can be next. Each site sets its own free-correction policy. RecentlyBooked charges nothing for qualifying correction, suppression, or removal. Qualifying grounds include dismissal, sealing, expungement, errors, wrong-person matches, juvenile records, or duplicates. Mugshots.com also keeps qualifying maintenance free. It asks for its record ID plus court documents. Both are private policies that can change. Approval is never promised. Arrests.org lists no Latah-specific free correction process.
Never pay an unverified demand. Save the emails, screenshots, URLs, and payment instructions. A threat or suspected fraud can be reported through the Idaho Attorney General scam-reporting channel and, when appropriate, law enforcement. A licensed lawyer is the right person for eligibility questions or a court order.
The official Idaho Clean Slate page explains the state process.

This legal-information page supports the official correction path and shows no individual record.
Missing Latah Booking Records
The receiving-jail report leaves out juvenile offenders. Idaho law can also shield active investigative material, victim-sensitive details, sealed or expunged records, and anything whose disclosure raises a safety or fair-trial concern. A missing name or booking photo may reflect an exemption. A blank result can simply mean the law keeps that record out of view.
Other explanations are routine. The person may still be in daytime processing. An arrestee may also sit at another receiving facility, be released before a report refresh, or appear only under the agency's exact spelling. Ask the agency which record it holds and which office serves as lawful custodian. That question settles most gaps quickly.
Latah Arrest Warrants and Wanted Lists
The Latah Sheriff publishes no public warrant-search form or county most-wanted page. Nez Perce material is not a Latah wanted list. Nez Perce houses some Latah-origin inmates, but that changes nothing. The official route starts with the Idaho Court Portal. It also includes the District Court Clerk at 208-883-2255. Sheriff confirmation follows at 208-882-2216.
- Search iCourt by county and available case information.
- Review any public warrant summary, case chronology, filing, or docket entry.
- Call the Clerk for access to a public court file or the Sheriff for law-enforcement confirmation.
- If a warrant may concern you, speak with the court or a lawyer about lawful resolution.
Idaho Court Administrative Rule 32 opens many case indexes, filings, calendars, summaries, and judgments. An unreturned arrest warrant can stay exempt. A no-result portal search is not a warrant clearance. Never approach or confront someone believed to be wanted, and never try to serve a warrant yourself. Call 911 for immediate danger.
After a Latah County Arrest
Misdemeanors and felony probable-cause matters land in Latah County Magistrate Court. From there a case may move through first appearance, release conditions, preliminary hearing, filing, arraignment, plea or trial, sentencing, diversion, dismissal, or acquittal. The order varies by case. The jail entry shows the charge alleged at intake. The court docket carries everything after that.
A roster disappearance can mean release or transfer. It says nothing about how the case ended. A court case can continue after custody ends. Use the case number from the booking or incident record when available, then compare it with iCourt. Moscow's activity log may bridge the initial event to a case number. It cannot replace the court file.
Latah Court and Arrest Records
Jail and court answer different questions. A booking record captures the charge listed at intake. The court chronology shows whether prosecutors filed a case, whether a judge changed release terms, and whether the matter ended in dismissal, acquittal, plea, conviction, diversion, or another disposition. A third-party image can keep the first charge even after the court record moves on.
Rule 32 also lets information stay hidden at one stage and open later. An unreturned warrant may not appear at all. Later hearings and judgments often still do. Neither source replaces a live custody check. Treat the Latah District Court and iCourt as the disposition sources.
Latah Bond and Release Timing
Older Latah instructions route bond through the Clerk and list a $10 processing fee for certain after-hours or weekend-after-court transactions. That page predates the jail transition. Confirm the current amount, payment method, receiving facility, and release process before you travel. A judge can also change bond. Conditions may follow that no old jail page shows.
Payment, a release order, physical discharge, transport, and roster removal are separate events. Paperwork may still be reaching the facility. Another hold may be under review. For a specific release, ask the court or the current housing facility. Treat no historical timing estimate as a promise.
Booked, Released, or Transferred
The right system depends on where the person sits. County intake, receiving-jail custody, state sentencing, federal imprisonment, and immigration detention are all distinct.
| Status | Where to check | What remains elsewhere |
|---|---|---|
| Just arrested or processing | Originating agency and Latah Sheriff | Incident and intake records may not be public yet |
| Held after Latah booking | Nez Perce report and direct facility confirmation | Latah or arresting agency may hold booking material |
| Released | Agency release record and iCourt | Booking and court records can remain after roster roll-off |
| Sentenced or supervised by Idaho | IDOC Resident/Client Search | County booking and court files remain separate |
| Federal custody | BOP Inmate Locator or federal custodian | BOP is not a Latah arrest feed and offers no public mugshot gallery |
| Immigration detention | ICE Online Detainee Locator | Civil immigration custody is not proof of a county charge |
Each search tool works its own way. IDOC updates every morning and accepts a name, birth year, IDOC number, or status query. The BOP locator is daily too. It covers federal inmates. ICE demands an A-number with country of birth, or exact biographical fields. VINE can send release or transfer alerts where data exists, though a no-result search should still go back to the responsible jail or agency.
Latah Arrest Totals Need Context
Idaho State Police logged 304 Latah County arrests in its 2024 county report. Juveniles were seven of those. Adults accounted for 297, alongside 282 Group A offenses and 241 adult Group B arrests. Treat them as statistics. They count NIBRS-reported activity only. They are not live jail bookings, people in custody, or booking photos posted online.
Latah Crime Trends Versus Rosters
Moscow Police annual reports show a city trend. The Idaho State Police report adds countywide context. Neither one stands in for the current receiving-jail population. A statistical report tells you how agencies categorized activity across a reporting period, while a custody roster shows who sat in one receiving jail at one snapshot. Mash them together and the comparison falls apart.
Older Latah Arrest Archives
Idaho's retention schedule labels booking records SG1605. Homicide and felony booking records are permanent, and the agency must contact the State Archivist about them. Misdemeanor booking records last five years after closure. Then they are destroyed. The agency itself must confirm how it classified a record and whether a newer schedule applies, and retention never guarantees a record sits online.
Start with iCourt for an older Latah County arrest. Then request the booking record or photo from Latah Sheriff or the arresting police agency. If the file was transferred or retired, ask for its retention series and destination. The Idaho State Archives is the next stop. It holds state, county, city, court, and newspaper collections, yet it serves historians rather than anyone tracking current custody. Court records follow separate court rules, and sealed material gets separate handling.
Third-party copies can outlive the official display. A newspaper story may also survive without reflecting the later court outcome. Always pair old arrest reporting with the court disposition.
Latah Arrest Alerts and News
The Sheriff's office lists no booking app. Its official Linktree gathers social and agency links in one place. Press releases and hot sheets may follow. Those channels explain an incident or a system change, but they never replace the official custody report. Genasys handles emergencies only. Think evacuations, weather, road closures, and missing persons, not routine jail releases.
Local outlets add context. The Argonaut, Dailyfly, Pullman Radio, Moscow Idaho News, and the Moscow-Pullman Daily News all cover the area. Coverage is selective. A story may rest on a police release, an activity log, a court filing, or an older roster, and a supplied image is not a county booking-photo feed. Confirm the event with the agency. Verify outcomes with the court too.
Recent Arrests Across Latah Cities
Which agency answers depends on the city. Moscow runs its own police department and a date-indexed activity log. Latah County Sheriff contracts patrol services for Genesee and Troy. A local arrest may need processing or continued custody. In that case, all three cities feed into the same post-transition county booking chain.
- Moscow Recent Arrests may begin with the Moscow Police Daily Activity Log, then move to the Latah-linked custody report and iCourt.
- Genesee Recent Arrests are Sheriff-centered because no separate active municipal arrest log was located.
- Troy Recent Arrests also route through the Sheriff contract model rather than a municipal mugshot page.
City, arresting agency, booking point, housing facility, and court are separate facts in any Latah County arrest record request. Keep each one intact.
