Check Latah County VINELink

A VINELink Latah County custody check follows one person through the system after an arrest. Who was arrested in Latah County, and where are they now? This service tries to answer that. It can also register a trusted contact for alerts about a release or a transfer. Idaho VINE works with participating jails and state prisons. The live answer depends on what each agency reports. It is not an arrest record or a court file. Someone arrested in Latah County may be booked in Moscow. That person may then be housed in another facility before any status shows up. Federal custody needs its own separate search.

Latah County VINELink Coverage

Idaho runs VINE through the Idaho Sheriffs' Association VINE program. It ties participating jail booking systems together with the Idaho Department of Correction. A court-notification module is part of it too. The Latah County Sheriff's Office links to VINE. That gives local users an intended official channel for custody updates. No county-by-county feed is promised in public material. A match is a status report from a participating system. It is not a guarantee that every Latah arrest appears right away. That distinction matters more since the county's 2025 jail change. Latah's facility now mainly handles daytime booking and court holds. Anyone kept in custody may be moved to another facility. One such site is the Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center. It sits in Lewiston. The arresting agency, the booking site, and the housing location can all differ for a single arrest. The VINE reporting agency can differ too. Check spellings and the listed facility with care. The official VINELink entry screen starts by asking for a state.

VINELink state selection interface for an Idaho custody check

This tool searches one person, not a gallery of Latah County booking photos.

Check an Arrest on VINELink

Open the live VINELink search application. Pick Idaho. Then follow whatever prompts the current interface gives you. Identifiers vary by contributing system. Even a correct name can return several matches, so compare the non-sensitive facts the official result displays. Two similar names do not mean the same person.

  1. Select Idaho and choose the custody search offered on the live screen.
  2. Enter the person's name or available offender or booking identifier exactly as known.
  3. Compare the agency, facility, and status before opening a result.
  4. Note the result time and any stated update warning.
  5. Use the registration option only after identifying the right record.

A no-result screen can mean several things. Booking may still be in progress. Transport may be underway, the jail feed may lag one update behind, or the record may be restricted. Juvenile matters stay off the current receiving-county report, and a federal or immigration detention will never be cleared by an Idaho VINE search.

What Idaho VINELink Reports

VINE answers one narrow question. What custody status did the participating agency send? It is not a certified Latah County arrest report, and it is not the Idaho court docket that shows how a charge ends. Read the common result concepts that way.

Result itemMeaning and limit
Custody statusThe last reported state, such as in custody, released, or transferred; a recent change may lag.
Facility or agencyThe reporting or holding location, which may be Nez Perce rather than the place of arrest.
Person identifierAn agency or offender reference used to distinguish records; it is not a court case number.
Notification optionA way to register for later status or court-event messages when that module is available.
Recorded eventA release, move, or other supplied change, not a ruling on guilt or the final charge.

When a VINELink custody check comes back with a name, that result reflects an arrest entry only. The Latah County booking-record paths hold the fuller record. Court outcomes live elsewhere. For disposition details on any Latah County arrest, Idaho iCourt and the Latah District Court Clerk are the right stops.

Register for Latah Custody Alerts

After the right person is found, the live result may offer a "Register for Notifications" button. Idaho materials describe phone, text, and email options. Phone registration uses a private four-digit PIN. That PIN confirms receipt, so keep it to yourself. Email and text may also trigger a confirmation code, which is why the prompts on screen matter more than an old screenshot.

  1. Open the verified custody result and select the notification link.
  2. Choose a safe phone, text, or email method that the screen offers.
  3. Create the required four-digit phone PIN or complete contact verification.
  4. Select the available release, transfer, custody, or court event.
  5. Save the PIN and confirmation details in a secure place.

The VINELink registration view keeps notification setup tied to a specific result.

VINELink Idaho search and notification registration interface

Never enter a real person's contact information just to test the interface. An official Idaho county VINE explanation lists 866-984-6343 as the phone registration route. The calls may repeat every two hours. IDOC says they can keep going for up to 48 hours until the PIN is entered. Contact methods and event choices vary by record. Registration is free. Normal phone or messaging terms still depend on the recipient's carrier.

IDOC Alerts After State Transfer

County custody and state correctional custody are two different stages. The IDOC Victim Services page describes VINE alerts covering prison-resident movement and status changes. The IDOC resident and client search serves people in state custody or on state supervision. It does not cover every newly arrested person awaiting a first appearance. That first appearance may be in Latah County. The same official page separates automated VINE alerts from direct Victim Services notice for certain events. These include full-term release, escape, and death. Past state notices have warned of gaps. The automated service was inactive at those times. Anyone relying on notice for safety should keep contact information current with the responsible program. VINE alone is not a safety plan. The state custody-notification page explains the separate IDOC role.

VINE and Genasys Differ

Latah County runs more than one alert channel. They do different jobs. VINE tracks a person and a custody or court event. Latah County Genasys Alert handles broad emergency notices for the public. A wildfire, evacuation, or severe hazard belongs in Genasys. A reported release or transfer of a selected person belongs in VINE.

VINELinkPerson-specific jail, IDOC, or available court-event alertsEmergency broadcasts or certified records
GenasysCommunity emergency and hazard messagesRelease and transfer notice

The county lists no Latah-branded SAVIN portal or dedicated booking app. The Sheriff's Linktree and social accounts announce news. They promise no post for each arrest and no current booking photo.

Confirm a Latah Custody Change

Online custody data can lag behind reality. Start with the Arrests Last 24 Hours page, then follow up by phone if you need an answer now. The Nez Perce in-custody page warns that recent status changes may not show yet, and it tells users to confirm with the facility at 208-799-3132 or in person. Latah Sheriff's main line is 208-882-2216.

Important: An automated alert is never a substitute for real safety measures. In an emergency, contact law enforcement, and lean on victim-services staff for safety planning.

Federal custody sits outside VINE's reach. The Bureau of Prisons locator handles federal prisoners, and ICE runs a separate civil immigration detainee locator. VINE makes no promise of federal coverage. A "no result" also does not prove release, clear a warrant, or establish that no arrest occurred.

Booking
The intake process that creates a jail transaction after an arrest.
Transfer
A move from one holding agency or facility to another.
Disposition
The court's later resolution, which may differ from the booking charge.
Notification PIN
A private code used to acknowledge a phone alert.

Compare the source date and the responsible agency before drawing any conclusion. A custody result marks one stage in a process, nothing more.
